From competition and customization to its many mechanisms,
the 25 year-history of Beyblade all began here.
Beyblades equipped with the Spin Gear System were introduced, beginning with the Dragoon S. They achieve balanced rotation and the first Left-Spin Beyblades.
New Beyblades such as the Wolborg, Trygle, and Trypio were introduced. Even 25 years later, many of the mechanisms implemented here continue to be favorites.
With releases such as the dual carbonate Dragoon F and the full auto-clutch Tryger F, this series achieved even further evolution from the S-Series.
This series implemented the Magnacore System, which added magnets within the spin gears. Being repelled by the magnetic blocks in the Magnestadium curved the spin of Beyblades, adding new excitement to battle.
A world championship event was held in which a total of 6 tag-teams (1 each from South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the U.S.A., 2 from Japan) competed to be the greatest in the world.
Beyblades were implemented with magnet-equipped Magnetic Weight Disks. In tandem with Magnacores, the mechanism enabled intense battles between attracted Beyblades or endurance matches between repelled ones, greatly increasing variety in competition.
Beyblades were imbued with the Engine Gear System, a drive mechanism which works with the same principle as a gear to charge the Beyblade's spinning power when triggered. With configurations to trigger just after shooting, when striking the opponent, or late in the battle, the system brought a new degree of strategy to battle.
This series featured new mechanisms that increased functionality of the Engine Gear and brought new possibilities for attack through parts such as the offense-boosting rubber axis and the reverse-spinning Reverse Engine Gear.
The Heavy Metal System (HMS) Series strengthened the Attack Ring with metal while making it more compact, leading to more intense battles than ever before.
Held in New York's Times Square, the event invited Bladers from 10 countries and regions around the world to compete in white-hot battle.
By incorporating metal materials into the striking wheel parts,
Beyblade battles grew even more intense with these series.
Beyblades were made customizable with 4 components: The face, wheel, track, and bottom. In the first series, Pegasis, Bull, Sagittario, and Leone were released.
Beypointer
The Beypointer device was released to accumulate digital Beypoints. After a battle, players can exchange the points through transmission with their Beypointers.
GanGan Stadium Beyta 1
By switching the wheel to a two-tiered Clear Wheel and Metal Wheel, top and bottom attack patterns are split, enabling a system for diverse battling and customization.
Numerous powerful Beyblades bring new intensity to the battle: The evolution of Left-Shift L-Drago, Lightning L-Drago, the mighty Defense Type, Earth Aquila, and the metal-axis Stamina Type, Burn Phoenix.
Formidable Beyblades were introduced including Galaxy Pegasis, evolution of the Pegasis line putting an emphasis on Right-Spin attacks, and Gravity Perseus, with its Dual-Spin mechanism.
Beypoint Card
The Beypoint Card imbedded with an IC chip was introduced, allowing point accumulation from WBBA events and Beyta 2, as well as point exchange for items like additional stickers, parts, and exclusives.
GanGan Stadium Beyta 2
The first international tournament of the Metal Fight Beyblade series was held. In it, 12 representatives selected from among Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong battled for the title of Asia's number one Blader.
This series featured parts that were the number one in a certain category, providing immediate strength even without customization. The Beyblades boasted high-function parts for things like height, wheel diameter, and weight.
"4D" represents the 4 D's: Different, Divided, Dynamic, and Deep. With the inclusion of the 4D Bottom, which fused the track and bottom, the Clear Wheel, which contained metal particles to boost weight, and the large mode-changing Metal Wheel, customization ability was boosted greatly.
Including Beyblades such as Phantom Orion, with its auto-adjusting wheel Variares and 4D Bottom, and Diablo Nemesis, with its 3-tier automatically shifting bottom parts, this wave of Beyblades introduced a range of ultra-powerful mechanisms.
On August 21st, 2011, 20 Bladers from 10 countries and regions of Asia took part in the intense battles of this international championship held in Kyoto, Japan.
Use of the Zero-G Stadium, which sways along with the movements of Beyblades, brought a once unheard-of dimension to Beybattles. The Synchrome System, composed of an upper Crystal Wheel and lower Chrome Wheel, also changed things up.
On March 25th, 2012, a world championship held in Toronto, Canada welcomed competitors qualifying from 25 countries and regions.
A number of Beyblades with ultra-powerful mechanisms joined the Zero Series, such as the Left-Spin Dark Knight Dragoon, the high centrifugal force Berserker Begirados, super attack-focused Samurai Pegasis, and the largest diameter Gladiator Bahamidia.
The "Burst" mechanism to break apart opponent Beyblades, the Beycloud System,
and other innovations were made with this series.
The first series with the Burst mechanism was implemented. In addition to the existing strategies of pushing your opponent outside or outlasting them, this series added the "Burst Finish," breaking apart the opponent. It realized the excitement of aggressive combat and thrilling, unpredictable battles.
Beycloud System
The Beycloud System made it possible for players to visualize their daily battling. The Beylogger, a tool attached to the launcher, recorded shoot strength and rotation numbers in battles and practice. It could also be used with the dedicated smartphone app, in-store Beypad, or free terminal. By recording details like Bladers' collected parts, tournament participation, and rankings, it became an essential record of players' growth. Activities generated the digital Beypoints, which were accumulated with play, giving Bladers the chance to acquire rare Beyblades.
This amusement terminal allowed free play for Bladers with their own Beyblades. Play was enabled by reading the NFC chip on the layer parts, and used a launcher device to shoot a Beyblade with the same physical action as in an actual Beybattle. In addition to accumulating Beypoints, players who won a random selection could receive a rare Beyblade from the terminal's built-in gacha dispenser.
With the clear Over Layer displaying the Layer Core, the more three-dimensional layers in this series created increased variety for Beybattles.
Unique Beyblades such as Xeno Xcalibur, with its sudden striking power, and Zillion Zeus, which contained metal balls in its layer and tip, were introduced into play.
The first Left-Spin Beyblade in Beyblade Burst, Lost Longinus, used metal parts on its layer for heavy attacks, striking hard against Right-Spin Beyblades. It also gave birth to the previously unheard of "low-speed burst" tactic of deliberately shooting lightly to burst an opponent's Beyblade with the opposite spin.
This series featured distinct mechanisms on all layers. The diverse attack mechanisms and implementation of the frame part attaching to the disc allowed disc customization for greater depth in Beybattles.
Beyblades such as Legend Spriggan, with its series-first Dual-Spin mechanism, Sieg Xcalibur, with an attack-strengthening metal sword, Nightmare Longinus, with the series-first integrated-disk layer, and Spriggan Requiem, with a collection of mechanisms central to the God Series drew new enthusiasm to the series.
The Cho-Z Layer Series used metal parts on layers to raise all-around specs on the Beyblades. The weight of the metal caused more forceful collisions and intense Beybattles.
Buster Xcalibur, Geist Fafnir, and other popular models join the Cho-Z Series with metal-infused layers.
On November 13th 2018, the world championship held in Paris, France welcomed Bladers qualifying from over 25 countries and regions.
Three Beyblades were released with the Cho-Z Awakening mechanism, layers with an interior Burst Stopper that activates upon a strong shoot to prevent bursting: Cho-Z Valkyrie, Cho-Z Spriggan, and Cho-Z Achilles.
This series featured layers split into 3 parts: The Gatinko Chip, Weight, and Base, which could be freely switched and customized. The layer customization allowed more detailed tuning of Beyblade functionality, for greater variety in Beybattles.
On May 26th, 2019, 20 Bladers from 11 countries and regions of Asia took part in the intense battles of this international championship held in South Korea.
A variety of Beyblades are introduced, including Venom Diabolos, with the splitting mechanism of the Bullet Driver, Lord Spriggan, a balanced Beyblade with high all-around specs, and Union Achilles, on which the Union Sword can be removed from the base to change its performance.
Beyblades elevated the GT Layer Series to new heights, including Regalia Genesis and Prime Apocalypse, with the infinite lock function, Imperial Dragon, with a groundbreaking motorized driver, and Master Diabolos, with a reversible base to change spin direction and other properties.
Layers were released with new metal parts called chassis, a new system that boosted resilience with a low center of gravity. The chassis were available as a single chassis, and a double chassis integrated with the disk, expanding potential strategies.
Sparking Beylauncher made actual sparks
Popular Beyblades from the history of the line appeared with increased specs through the Superking Layer System. The new addition of Variant Lucifer deployed a rubber blade when shooting, maintaining rock-solid defense to ward off attacks.
This system introduced a mechanism linked to the layer's lock where the layer would convert its form and performance. It included Hyperion Burn, which raised offense through the blades that extended from it and the enlarged layer itself, Helios Volcano, which automatically converted and attacked as a bound blade, and Lucifer The End, which struck the opponent with intense smash power and became a freely spinning blade after conversion.
A series composed of a DB Layer made up of the DB Core, Blade, and Armor, and the special DB Disc. These enabled Low Mode, which achieved explosive spin and attack power by setting an extremely low center of gravity. It could be switched to High Mode for variety in strategy by equipping all discs and attaching the blades at a high position.
Dynamite Belial "Dynamite Evolution"
Dynamite Belial allowed equipment of Evolution Gears that massively increased performance by strengthening all parts.
Fafnir, Valkyrie, Spriggan, Longinus, and other major Beyblades from the Burst Series were given the DB Layer. The modification provided by the DB Layer brought new heat to Beybattles.
The Overdrive System allowed Beyblades given a strong shoot to automatically convert in battle, changing the flow of battle with new offense or defense according to their conversion.
This series implemented the BU Blade, a new pinnacle of unique abilities and functions, to greatly boost specs and customization. It was compatible with the DB Layer System, allowing it to be set to High Mode or Low Mode. When Divine Belial is fitted with the Evolution Gears, it's powered up to Ultimate Gear, signifying the amassed power of all past protagonists' Beyblades.
Gatling Dragon, Xiphoid Xcalibur, Zest Achilles, and other popular Beyblades of the Burst Series were reborn with the BU Layer. The Burst Series showed great excitement at this new peak of power.

The series evolves into "Gear Sports," with the super-speed mechanism X-Dash
bringing intense speed and force to extreme battles.
Taking the competition and customization of the Bakuten Shoot Series, the intensely clashing Metal Blade of the Metal Fight Series, and the Burst mechanism from the Burst Series for nail-biting battles, this series added the super-speed mechanism X-Dash. 4 Beyblades were released as the Basic Line.
Evolved digital link
This system allows Bladers to accumulate digital Beypoints by linking the launcher-attached tool Battlepass with the Beyblade X app by Bluetooth. The app records Beyblade X shoot power and spin numbers, converting regular play into points. The more that Bladers play, the more points they accumulate, giving them chances to obtain rare Beyblades. Through digital linkage, Beyblade's essential analog appeal is given a new spin.
X-Over Project launched
To commemorate 25 years of Beyblade history, this project revives historic Beyblades from the line as part of Beyblade X. The first release, from Bakuten Shoot Beyblade, was Dranzer S, followed by Driger S. Other series are planned to follow.
To experience the Gear Sports of Beyblade, a training center was opened for a limited time in October of 2023. Representing Beyblade X as a sport, the event was held with the concepts of experiencing Beyblade like a light workout and letting adults gather to enjoy Beyblade as well.
In contrast with the Basic Line that used metal launcher hooks for balance stability, this line focused metal on the outside of the blade to ensure unique performance. It added new depth to the Beyblade X battles of 2024.
